This multiplayer drag racing game offers up to 20 different cars ranging from the supersports cars to the street cars as well as 2 different distances, ¼ mile or 1 mile, for you to race on! The game does not show you when the best time to shift your car’s gear is, instead you have to judge the time to shift by listening to the growl of your engine yourself! Gameplay
Before you start drag racing, you’ll need to buy a car first at the car market! The game provides quite a nice variety of cars which are all based on cars in real life, ranging from supersports cars to the grittier street cars. Some examples include V-2114, P911 Carrera, LXDC, T-Supa, RP-7 and C-RS. These cars are locked and will only be unlocked after you reached the level requirement. Thus, being a beginner, you’ll start off with the level 1 car – the V-2114.
Although most of the cars will cost you in-game money, there are also premium cars which will cost you gold. Honestly speaking though, quite a lot of the non-premium looks much better than the premium ones. You can only own 2 cars at any time, thus you will have to sell off the cars that you don’t need or want so that you’ll have enough space to buy new cars. You can, of course, spend some real money to buy a new garage slot for an additional car as well! Furthermore, each car has its own stats, namely the power, torque and weight. So, when buying cars, be sure to choose one that you think is suitable for you!
You may want to tune up your rig before you start challenging players to a race. Merely head over to the tuning tab and buy new parts for your engine, intake, exhaust, transmission, weight reduction, fuel system and suspension. Most parts can be bought using in-game money except for weight reduction, though some components do cost a lot. There are also exclusive items like adding an extra turbine, twincooler, shift lamp or modified cylinder block head to give your “speed monster” that extra boost you may need!
You can even perform some “special” adjustments to your car to give it an unfair advantage over the common players. Just pop your car’s hood and you’ll see! For instance, you can spend gold (premium currency) to do some RPM adjustments which will significantly increase the dynamics of your car’s acceleration, making your car go a lot faster! You can also adjust your transmission for 10 thousand slv (in-game currency) or spend more gold on the ECU setting to allow you to use the full potential of your car! There are also power-ups like racing dopant and nitros that you can buy using gold to significantly increase the power of your car for 1 race.
With your car all tuned up, it’s time to unleash the beast on the tracks! The drag races in Forbidden Racing are all multiplayer in nature. Each race will cost you some gas and your gas will refill itself over time. If you can’t wait, you can spend gold to buy more gas or ask your fellow racers for more gas. The game also provides 2 types of distances for you to race at – a quarter mile (402 m) or a mile (1600 m). The longer the distance, the most rewards you will get if you win. However, if you somehow lost, you will still earn reputation (a.k.a. experience points) and money too... just a whole lot less than the winner. There’s also a rating system in place and when you win your rating will be bumped up while if you lose, your rating will notably drop. However, the game has excellent match-making system that will match you with other players who are within your capability and range.
Ready to start? Great, get your engines revving and go on the mark! The controls in Forbidden Racing are quite different from other drag racing games out there. The car will automatically move after the race starts. All you need to do is to wait for the perfect moment and click your left mouse button again to shift your gear. The game does not show you when the best time to shift your car’s gear is. Instead, you have to judge the time to shift by listening to the growl of your engine yourself and it can be quite difficult if you’re not very familiar with drag racing. If you have nitros, you can also activate it by clicking on your right mouse button. Nitro can turn a defeat into a victory, so be sure to use it when you need to.
After winning a couple of races, surely you have enough money to start visually improving your car. After all, everyone wants their car to look great, especially when their car is the first car to cross the finish line, right? Luckily, customization is Forbidden Racing’s forte! There are quite a huge variety of customization options, including different paints, discs (car rims) and vinyls that you can play with. However, all paints and discs require gold while only some of the vinyls require gold. This game has one of the largest selections of vinyls. The vinyls range from text to logos, symbols to patterns... the variety is simply amazing! The best part is that around 80 to 90% of the vinyls can be purchased using in-game money. Awesome, right?
In Forbidden Racing, you can even use the in-game screenshot option to put a screenshot of your car along with a quote of your own on a mock yet professional-looking Forbidden Racing magazine cover. You can then share the cover to your friends and let them drool over your cool car! Not to mention, Forbidden Racing also provides awards (a.k.a. achievements) for you to acquire as well as a casino with free spins every 4 hours (if you’re ridiculously lucky, you may win the grand prize of a brand new supersport car!). There is even a leaderboard that masquerades as the “party” tab that allows you to see your ranking among other players from around the world! You can check your best times with the top 5 players in Forbidden Racing!

The graphics in Forbidden Racing is very polished and the cars look surprisingly realistic. Be careful not to drool all over your keyboard as you check out the many cars available! By default music in this game is muted. However, you can enable the awesome music by clicking on “radio” and selecting the “play” button. The “radio” in this game is actually a real radio station that streams its broadcast on the internet and the station offers plenty of amazing techno/dance music with heavy beats that will definitely get your feet to start tapping along with the tunes. Besides the radio, while you’re drag racing, you can also listen to the very realistic roar of the engine as you slam on the accelerator. It’s simply brilliant!

Forbidden Racing managed to retain its 1 million monthly active users for a very good reason – it is perhaps one of the best drag racing-only game on Facebook! The game provides a huge array of sleek and shiny cars that ranges from supersport cars to the gritty street cars. There are also 2 different distances that you can race on, namely ¼ mile or 1 mile. The game has controls that are very different from any other PC-based drag racing games.
