Summary
In Greedy Gods: Islands & Treasures you are able to take a small island and turn it into a huge monument to the gods, or to yourself. Here you have the powers of a god, create and destroy at the spin of the wheel. Match wits with your friends and defend yourself against strangers in a fun casual game today.
Gameplay
When you first enter the game you are taken straight to the wheel of fortune. Here you have up to 25 spins stored up, and each time you spin you have several options available. To claim a spin simply press the big red button and you will see it go. The number of remaining spins is shown in the middle and you can see your total money on the top left of the screen.
There are three further options on the wheel other than money. You have Shield, Attack and Steal. Each of these is a special event that has an effect on the rest of the game. Starting with the shield, it is as simple as it sounds, and it will protect you from one attack action. This will stop your opponent taking anything from you and destroying your building. Shields also can be refreshed following an attack.
The attack option takes you to the current island of another player. Here you will use your godly powers and smite one of the objects on the island. The item is then destroyed and you will earn points towards your own shield. The more people that you are able to smite the more defences you will have of your own. Simply press on the item you wish to destroy and watch your lightening rain down from the sky.
The Steal option takes you to an island where you can see the money total of your opponent. There are then 3 piggy banks, growing in size from small to large. Each bank has a certain amount of health and you use your lightning to try and break them. There is a moving bar at the bottom of the screen, and you have to press a button to stop it. The more full the bar is the more damage you do and each bank you break gives you gold to spend on your island.
Once you have finished your spins it is time to spend your hard earned (or stolen) money. Each island has several objects you can create, and several upgraded versions of each one. For example you start with a small wooden horse that over time and several upgrades becomes a magnificent statue of the famous Trojan Horse. Once you have collected all of the upgrades for your island it is time to make a new one, you get to pick from a set of themes and then start the process again.
If you run out of spins there are several methods of getting them back. You can watch in app adverts for a free spin, or you can sign up with your Facebook account for 25, more on that later. There is also the option to buy a set number of spins from the game for real money, this option appears all in the middle of the wheel and you can choose a plan if you wish.
If you sign up with your Facebook account it links you to any of your friends that play. Here you can see how they are doing and what their island looks like. You also have the option to specifically target your friends for theft or attacks, but beware they can also return the favour.
While the gameplay of Greedy Gods: Islands & Treasures seems a little basic, it is actually really engaging. The moment you really start to develop your island, or you get a big haul from a theft you can see the appeal of the game. It can be a little slow at the start particularly if you are robbed early on, but stick with it and you can find there is a lot of fun here.
Community
Though this is a new game there are already lots of players here. There is a huge following for Greedy Gods: Islands & Treasures and the option to add friends on Facebook has meant there is a lot of interaction here. There are also forums and a Facebook page where you can talk to the other players.
Graphics/Sound
Greedy Gods: Islands & Treasures is a really cute tame, there are lots of different themes to the game and it has a really cartoony feel that is fun and vibrant. Though it is a pretty simple setup it looks and players really nicely. The sounds of smashing your rivals buildings is also quite satisfying.
Conclusion
This is a fun little game, though it has a lot of destruction and stealing it also has ways for you to get revenge and make money. There are a lot of islands for you to get to own and it is a nice way to pass some time. If you do not spend real money though there is a fair bit of downtime while you wait for spins. Aside from that this is a nice game to play.
