Gameplay
When you begin to play you are taken to your small and broken little farm where you are given a brief tutorial. This will show you how to play, with tips on planting, building and harvesting your crops. As you go through the game there are more tips available and you will also have a little intro to each new feature.
After the tutorial there are a series of quests that continue throughout the game, here they will give you tips on what to do next as well as rewards. These quests are often aimed at moving you on to the next stage of the game, and can have some really useful items in return or gold. As you complete them you also gain experience.
This experience is used to determine your level and the more xp you have the higher your overall level. These levels have several parts to them and when you make a new one you will get a reward. As well as this reward you will also unlock new items, crops or animals to have on your plot. There are lots of items that require a certain level, and the more you play the faster you will be able to open them and use these yourself.
So, now you have a farm what do you do here? Well you have a lot of different crops and plants to choose from, these vary from grains to fruits and vegetables and everything in between. Each plot can grow 1 batch of them, and you can have a huge amount of different plots growing different things all at the same time. One of the best features of Hay Day is the fact that your crops won't die. You do need to harvest them, but if you can't get to the game for any reason you won't lose what you planted.
As well as plants, there are also lots of different animals on the farm. Each of these requires a special food, such as chickens needing seeds. When they have been fed, after a certain amount of time they will give you something back, either milk or eggs or other produce depending on the animal. Once you have these ingredients you can sell them, or use them in recipes for the sales board.
This sales board is a wanted list of items, from npc characters that need stuff from you. When you have the required materials you can send them out in your truck or boat to be delivered, when it comes back you will get paid. This is a really good source of income and there are always orders to be filled.
There are also a lot of different buildings for you to make, from the farmhouse and bakery to more ornamental things such as fountains or even a beach house. These all need different materials to make, such as nails or wood all of which can be found or purchased. The higher your level the more complex and useful the buildings you can have.
There are 2 main currencies in the game, Coins and Diamonds both of which can be earned in game. Coins are spent on the majority of items, and there are some that are Diamond only. This is also the premium currency where you can buy it with real money and use it to speed up your game.

And as you would expect you have all the cute animal noises you would want as well as a pleasant music to listen to.
