Plotline
While there is no true plotline, there are lots of different themes running throughout the game. With it’s brilliant medieval setting, blended with a little magic you have a place where you can joust for glory, make friends and find romance.
Gameplay
When you first log into the game you are able to choose whether you would like to be a Knight or a Lady, once you make the choice it can not be changed, so make sure you get the one you want to play. This choice determines some of the different things you can do as there are specific roles that only the Knight or Lady can fulfill.
You are then off on an adventure, where you are on your airship and lost looking for a way home. You are able to then discover some of the different things you can do in the game as there is a brief tutorial showing you how to play. After a few brief things to do you are then sitting in your own estate with lots of things to do and this is where the game begins to take off.
You have several buildings to begin with, though they are in a state of disrepair and you will need to fix them. There is also a farm for you to grow produce on, which you can use for different things later on and for crafting. Each building will cost a few materials to make or upgrade and these can be crafted or found as you adventure.
As a knight you also have the option to go Jousting, this involves you riding a horse and using a lance against another player, either urn by the computer or an actual person. You use your skills and items to win, and if you do you earn glory and can earn rewards too. As a Lady you are able to cook impressive meals that help your Knight in his jousting.
The game uses an energy system, each activity you do will cost a point of energy and you have a limit on what you can do. There are however lots of ways to earn more energy, you can get gifts, find them as treasure when you clear obstacles and you can also get some for completing quests.
There are lots of materials for you to find in the game, and these can be used to craft tools and other items you need to build your estate, grow crops and to make things that you can use for different objectives.There is also the option to send gifts to your friends, and you can receive them too.
As well as adding friends to the game, which you can do without having them in your Facebook friend list, you are able to also tag a person as your romance. Doing so will give bonuses to each player and allow you to share certain things in the game, such as a Knight gaining more glory if he jousts for his Lady.
There are 2 main currencies in the game, coins and rubies. Both of these can be earned through quests and found on your adventures. You can also buy many of the items in the game with rubies and these can give you some really nice boosts. Rubies can also be bought for real money through the game if you find you are running low on them.
While you take part in the activities in the game you also earn experience, this adds to your level and the higher your level the more items and buildings you have available. There is also the option to expand your estate and it can become quite big. Once you have the land you can do whatever you want on it, and there are a lot of players that have created some amazing patterns and shapes using the crops and buildings available.
Community
There is a huge community of players in Knights & Brides, with the option to play with people without having to add them to your friends, it gives you a huge group of people to get to know in the game and share things with. It also has a very active community page where there are lots of competitions and people posting pictures of their estates.
Graphics/Sound
Knights & Brides is a beautiful 3D game, with a lot of very stylized artwork and gorgeous animations. The estates look amazing with some really stand out buildings for you to make. There is a huge amount of detail hidden around the game, and a lot of it looks very cute but also unique.
Conclusion
With its brilliant looks, huge fan base and simply amazing styling Knights & Brides is a really fun game to play. It has won multiple awards and you can see why when you play. The setting is well written and believable and the added features make this a really stand out game.
