Gameplay
When you first log into the game you arrive in your house, just as your avatar is of an age to go out and hunt pokemon. You are sent to visit a retired trainer across the village and from there you are able to begin your journey. You are able to choose from one of 3 basic Pokemon and then you are invited to go and fight the first of the trainers. A long journey awaits you but there are lots of rewards along the way.
As you explore the map you are likely to come across wild Pokemon, these will try to evade you as you capture them, sometimes they will escape sometimes you get to keep them. This can result in some very rare pets too so it is worth keeping your eyes out. There are also lots of trainers around the world that will give you Pokemon if you beat them. Taking on trainers will also give you a variety of rewards that you can use later on in the game.
Once you have a Pokemon you can attempt to evolve them. This will make them more powerful and give them more abilities, however to do so requires you to win some battles with them and find all of the materials you need. There are some creatures you can try to evolve without all of the items but it will lower the success chance, so it is worth trying to get everything together before you do.
Each time you enter a battle you will have a seperate screen open up, where you can see what you are fighting and the skills and stats of both of them. It is up to you to use your Pokemon to the best advantage and try to win. There are a lot of different creatures to find, and many of them have strengths and weaknesses against others, so try to mix up your team of Pokemon and you will have a better time of things.
There are also lots of other activities and ways to find useful items in the game, you can take your characters looking for things by fishing, or cutting down trees. There is also the option to trade with other players and shops with a variety of goods at different prices depending on where you are.
If you are a more social player there are lots of places for you to make friends, you can make or join you own clan and play together. You can also battle against other people or your friends in a variety of different places and you can easily add people to your friends list to keep in touch with them.
There are a huge range of different things that you can find in the game, and there is also a premium service called Credits. These can be purchased right in the game and will be able to speed up your progress, you can also use these to buy VIP memberships too which give you a few advantages.
There is a lot of fun to be found in this game, but there is no real introduction or beginners guide so you are really dropped into the deep end. If you are an experienced Pokemon player this should not be a problem, but if you are new to the genre then it can be a bit of a problem. There are a lot of helpful people around and a chat interface so you can ask for help, or read the official guide on the Wiki page.

This being Pokemon, there are millions of players all over the world. Many of them are playing here, particularly as this is a free game. With an in game chat channel, clans and the option to make friends there are many ways for you to connect in the game. Outside of it there are dedicated threads on social media and a very active and updated Wiki page too. All of this makes for a very large group of people to talk to.
Graphics/Sound
For an online game, there is a very console feel to Pokemon World. It’s theme follows the tradition of these games, but it could have been better served with a bit of an update. Having said that you can still find and enjoy the Pokemon and the old school feel is one that is enjoyable. Combined with the fun creature noises and music this is a pleasant place to be.
Conclusion
All in all this is a firm favorite within the Pokemon universe. There is a lot for you to do here and a huge collection of creatures to collect and evolve. With a massive amount of players and lots of ways to chat it is also a really fun place to be too.
